Wisconsin State Fair

The Wisconsin State Fair is an annual, eleven-day festival that celebrates Wisconsin farming, livestock, and agricultural products, offering up a uniquely Wisconsin experience, the Wisconsin State Fair brings together the community, to celebrate the culture that is the Dairy State. The Fair's signature food item is the world famous and delectably delicious Original Cream Puff, which has been sold at the Fair since 1924 with about 400,000 puffs sold annually. Any festivalgoers or employees heading to and from State Fair Park in August 2026 can ride MCTS’s two regular routes that have stops near the grounds! Details on each of those options are below.
  • Route 18:  

    • Route 18 has multiple bus stops along Greenfield Avenue on the southern side of State Fair Park. The bus stops closest to State Fair Park on Greenfield Avenue are at S. 84th (Expo Center), S. 81st (Gate 2 – Milwaukee Mile Grandstand) and S. 78th-S.79th (Gate 1 – Milwaukee Mile Track).   

    • Route 18 operates between the hours of 4:03 a.m. and 1:41 a.m. on Weekdays, between 4:30 a.m. and 1:01 a.m. on Saturdays and between 6:00 a.m. and 1:41 a.m. on Sundays/Holidays. See the full schedule and view a map of the routing here.   

  • Route 33:  

    • Route 33 has multiple bus stops along S. 84th Street on the western side of State Fair Park. The bus stops closest to State Fair Park on S. 84th Street are at Greenfield (Expo Center), Washington (Gate 4), Schlinger (Gate 5) and Adler (Pettit National Ice Center).   

    • Route 33 operates between the hours of 5:43 a.m. and 6:06 p.m. on Weekdays, between 10:27 a.m. and 5:29 p.m. on Saturdays and between 10:53 a.m. and 5:36 p.m. on Sundays/Holidays. See the full schedule and view a map of the routing here.  

  • Fares: 

    • Regular route fares apply. Visit our Fares page for specific fare information.  

  • Trip Planning:  

    • Passengers can plan their MCTS bus ride to the State Fair by using the Trip Planning tool on RideMCTS.com or the Umo app. Or, for personalized assistance planning your bus ride, you can call the MCTS Customer Service Center Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 414-937-3218.  

  • ParaTransit:  

    • Milwaukee County's paratransit service, Transit Plus, will also be providing rides to State Fair for $4 each way. Riders should contact Transdev to schedule a ride to the fun. Visit RideMCTS.com/Accessibility to find out if you're eligible. 

  • Note: We do not offer Park and Ride shuttles to State Fair at this time.
